mixing beer and Pepsi

When in Guatamala at Lake Atitlan, we kept seeing people mixing red wine and Coke. Having tasted their red wine -- who could do that to a Coke?

I see the point of the OM, that 151 has more 'bang for the buck,' or ounce in your pack in this case. But there has to be an aesthetic compromise. I'm not a big Bacardi 151 rum fan -- there are so many good, flavorful rums like Appleton or Admiral Rodney's or Grey Seal out there that are so much better -- if only they'd make them in, say, a 120 or 110 proof version, I'd be in heaven.

And since that freeze-dried wine that Gallo promised us still isn't on the horizon, the Black Box Reserve Merlot out of the box, the bag-o-wine stuffed in the bottom of your hiking buddy's pack is the ONLY way to go for those of us labeled hiking wine snobs. A bag is the equivalent of 4 bottles -- almost enough to get thru that first night in the wilderness.

Agreed Sparkyy. UL lmao! You forgot the papers!

I am sure you have experienced this too after puffing....but I always get warmed up. Either that, or just don't mind the cold as much any more haha.

High Fructose = bad!

Bag of wine, hmmm, I never thought of that! Holy jeez, dare I put it in my camelback!

Not sure why, maybe because I lived a good part of my life in the southeast but I think bourbon is the natural choice for backpacking. Though a lot of my life recently has been in Texas so you have to add tequila, nothing adds life to a campfire experience like tequila.

WARNING! For some reasons in some parts of the country law enforcement officials frown on you for running naked down the trail.
