Montrail Hardrock 09's are on sale for $54 CDN at MEC, so you canucks might want to check it out if you are interested.

(as that's pretty much half price I grabbed myself another pair today)

$54 CAD is about $57 AU. So my best price here is more than twice that...
We never win these contests. When we find something cheap from over there we end up losing most of that in postage.
Right now there is an item that is about $73 US here (best price on the Net) . It is advertised by a US seller for $35, plus $37 postage...
Franco
I did find last week a Fenix light that was pretty much the same price here as the best price over there. Made my month...

I got some on SAC last year for $39 US, but they sure didn't fit me right.

Nice - but where are they on the site or do I have to go there in person (I am in Edmonton, AB)? Thanks!

You'd have to go in person, which is why I say "canucks" - They'll likely be on clearance at all the MEC locations, but they don't ususally put that stuff on the web site for sale. Since you're actually in Edmonton, just head for the store.

I missed out on a GREAT deal on Montrail TORRE GTX at get this Ross Dress for Less! They weren't my size. They were $25.99! I did score and buy Teva Hurricane 3 sandals for $5.99. I also bought some Wilson nylon pants to be Nikwaxed and used for rain pants (with cargo pockets) for $8.99! Check out the store if you have one close. It is very hit and miss and if you find something better buy it then, cause they usually don't get a second shipment. Just a FYI, good luck.

The 09 Hardrocks may be cheap because most people don't want them. I returned the ones I bought; they have about as much foot support as a pair of bedroom slippers!

Montrail has just come out with a new model called the AT Plus, which they claim is like the old Hardrocks. It's on their website but not yet in stores. We'll see....

Sorry, Tango, I have a habit of hitting "reply" on the last message read. It was really a reply to the OP (phat), whose post WAS about Montrail Hardrocks.

It may just be the '09 women's Hardrocks that are so flimsy, but I've read complaints from men, too.

Well, to be completely fair, I bought a pair of '09's figuring they would suck because they had been changed, and on *my* feet they are better than the original.. so I kind of had to eat my words. But everyone's feet are different. I now own two pairs of 09's and like them a lot.

So we now have two Tangos. How confusing! Anyway, welcome to just plain Tango and hi to Tango61, who has been here longer than I have!
