I have a friend who showed me his Snugpak Sleeping Bag a few months ago. It is rated at 0 degrees and compressed to a size smaller than a large cantaloupe, I don't think it weighed more than 1lb. I want one of these very badly. Does anyone have any experience with them? Do they work at the rated temps? How well do the stitches hold? Well, are they any account? If they hold up this would be the nicest sleeping bag I have ever seen.

I have a Snugpak Chrylsalis. I have yet to test it in extreme conditions. It is rated to a low of 20 degrees, but have only had it down to 40. Being a very wamr sleeper I was actually fine in the bag, so it might not be good for everyone at that temp range. It does handle condensation very well, no dampness at all in the morning. I'll try to let you know if I get a chance to really give it a workout anytime soon. It is very light and compressable, and doesn't really seem to have much loft, or need it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Our troops used to refer to them as Snugcrap! There's some pretty extensive commentary on many of the military/tactical forums.

I checked them out some years ago when they were initially introduced .... a sub 2 lb bag with the temp ratings claimed looked too good to be true. Turns out - it was!

I've not heard quit as many complaints about the quality of construction - it's the temp ratings that were horribly exaggerated.

Keep in mind that my information/resources is somewhat dated - perhaps they've made some positive changes?
