I know my wife will appreciate this for longer trips. Heck i suppose i should get some for my planned High Sierra Trail hike next Sept. 9-10 days might leave my hair a little rasta-looking

I tried something like this for soap. It isn't as wonderful as it seems. You need a lot of the sheets for it to do anything, and then because your hands are wet while trying to grab a sheet or so, the rest of the sheets get wet as well, turning everything into a clump.

YMMV

Ya know. maybe I'm just being curmudgeony before my age (or perhaps it's starting to become "age appropriate" curmudgeonry) but a long time ago back in the days when Men were men, women were women, and I walked uphill in and out 20 miles a day on trails wearing jeans and kodiak boots - all body washing things didn't have to come in 750 ml squeeze bottles with flip tops and scents to make you smell like "lavender citrus magnolia efoliating hydroxinating omega 3 tree tee oil extract extra body" , or "glacier fresh adventure man".. There was this ancient thing called "soap" which
came without added water to be lugged - you could peel little bits of it off with your jackknife to
"re-hydrate" it, or just rub it on your hands... It was even all natural and worked not too bad for
washing things - even hair!

Gosh I wonder if anyone still sells the old style "dehydrated" soap! Maybe I can use my iTouch to
google up an internet supplier while I drink my extra foam double shot caramel tea tree oil extra body latte....

Come to think of it. The bottles I've sniffed labelled "glacier fresh adventure man" certainly don't smell like me after I've been hiking up to glaciers and having adventures... They smell a *LOT* different. I'm wondering what sort of hiker the body wash people are using as a model for this scent. I must be doing something wrong to not smell like that after a hike up to a glacier... Maybe I'm going to the wrong glaciers?

What about not bathing on short trips of 3 to 4 days? I think that's the manly smell.
If worse comes to worse, you can boil a little water and use a bandana to kinda clean up before hitting the sac.
It might also let the critters know you are there.

How about just old fashioned Dr Bonner's soap? You can shampoo, shave, brush your teeth etc. I never have had the nerve to try brushing my teeth with it and I have not shaved in 26 years.

That's the same as the Sea To Summit pocket soap that costs only about $5.00 :

I use free little packets of shampoo from hotel rooms!

Whatever you use, be sure to keep the shampoo out of streams (even if it is biodegradable). Here is the routine: 1) find a location that is away (at least 100-200 feet) from the stream or lake and that does not drain towards the water body, 2) fill large collapsable water bottle with water and set it at your wash location, 3) dunk your head in the stream to get it totally wet, 4) go back to your wash location and apply shampoo, 5) rinse 6) if not rinsed enough, go back and get more water. Be sure all soap is out of your hair before you ever dunk your head back in the stream. Obviously, this process is a lot easier wtih a buddy to be the water hauler.
