After years of reading about pikas living only at high altitude, I'm glad that scientists have finally discovered the pikas of the Columbia River Gorge. I've seen one only twice in almost 30 years of living here, but I hear them every time I go out!

I was thinking of you, Mouse, when I was reading that. I remembered you saying something awhile back about seeing them in the Gorge. Fascinating to me because I have always thought of them as being one of the most high-altitude dependent animals.
