Does anyone have any experience repairing broken backpack buckles? There are replacements available for sewn-in buckles like this one:

Quick attach buckle

These are 1" and 3/4" buckles, though, and I have a broken 2" waist buckle. The female side is sewn in, so I can't replace it with a standard piece; it has to have a removable/split cross bar. Does such a thing exist for 2" buckles, or am I stuck with a complicated stitching job?

You can definitely get 2" buckles: http://www.rei.com/product/848919/gear-aid-side-release-buckle-kit

Just because the current buckle is sewn in doesn't mean the replacement has to be. I broke a 2" buckle on an REI kids pack. I took it into the shop and they put that thing back on. It works fine.

The Campmor "General Maintenance and Repair" category also has 2 inch buckles: http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Category___40000000226_200368333
