Midwinter Sierra Nevada snowpack

Midwinter Sierra Nevada snowpack - 03/02/21 05:52 PM

Shaping up to be another "meh" year with March set as the decider (Dec-Feb are the wettest months, historically, significant snow is rare after the start of spring.)

For this date:
Northern snowpack is 57%
Central snowpack is 60%
Southern snowpack is 40%

Once concerned myself with "how early can I get in?" but now am more focused on "when will forests close due to fire?"

"Early" seems to be the answer on both.

Cheers,

I think you're right. Sad times. Next ten days show only a 50% chance of rain...

We're having a bit of a wintery storm come through and it might push the numbers up some in the next couple days. For today they've barely budged @ 61/61/38%.
