Sounds lovely, nice pics! I've never been in any of the trailheads except from the hdqtrs, and never been to the area you describe. Maybe I'll do that sometime in the next month, hope the water holds up. I'm also thinking about a trip there Memorial Day weekend, don't really want to deal with a long drive elsewhere. I know from doing a trip there last year in late April, and reading the status of water sources posted on the Park's website, that a lot of water has been disappearing in the drought: do you think you can reasonably at least rely upon the water in the ponds/lakes, or do they just get a little too nasty? I assume you can always (well, except maybe by late summer) find water in some sort of pools along Coyote Creek, but what about some of the other major creeks?

I have never been at Coe Park past the end of April. It gets too hot for me. The water now is about as it was a month later in 2012, which was also a dry year. There are many springs. You need to get a park map- springs and water sources are located on it. Bring a water filter. I filter and treat with chlorine. There are already strings of algae in some of the ponds. The webpage below has good information.
