I bought this map for a recent trip I took:
http://www.beartoothpublishing.com/superstition.phpIt was well worth it.
The western part of the park is very much desert and off trail travel is pretty easy. I've heard many of the established trails can kind of disappear between junctions. The eastern part of the park is wetter with more chaparral. You can follow riverbeds easily enough though you have to be prepared to do quite a bit of rock scrambling.
I went for 2 nights at the end of Feb. I had a great time even though we got rained out and couldn't complete the planned loop.
