When do trails in ADK Clear up?

Hello guys, just wondering if there are any locals near the Adirondacks that know when the trails clear up. I love 2 to 3 hours away and I'm just wondering when I can plan to start hiking.

Still snow covering most of the adks. Almost all the lakes are still frozen. Ice thickness still measured in feet. At elevation and the northern slopes will have snow for quite some time. This doesn't mean one cannot still get out there and hike. Some think this is the best time of year, just before it all turns to mud and the bugs come out.

Yea, im looking to backpack then tent. Not really fond of snow. But after the snow melts, mud comes and that is not fun at all.


Is there any time frame when Ice/mud is mostly gone?
