Bought a cheap gram scale...

so, I generally just use our postage scale at work for weighing gear, but it's a pretty high capacity scale (read, not terribly precise) and it's a pain to lug crap back and forth to work to weigh it.

So, I bought a cheap little gram scale off of Amazon.com to use for smaller gear at home....and now Amazon seems to think I'm a pothead.
It's suggesting all sorts of drug related paraphernalia now, pot grinders, books about weed, etc. I found that somewhat amusing, and worth sharing with the crowd

Did you hear the rumor that Amazon reports the sales of drug paraphernalia to the authorities? A small profit from the information gathering that constantly goes on.

I have always paid cash for my gram scales. My 35 pound capacity fish weighing scale for weighing the whole pack was bought without the secrecy of cash. Fishermen are liars anyway. The scale is just a prop while we tell whopper stories.

I really don't mind if I'm fingered as a druggie, they can test me and search anything I own...nothing to hide. Pretty dumb generalization though, it's not like I'm buying a bong or something.

Price you pay for a cheapo scale I suppose.

What is the brand name of the scale and can you depend on its accuracy?
Maybe thats a dumb question because in the drug business honest weight might be serious.

I picked up a scale online mayabe six years ago to weigh gear. I wish I could have afforded one that had a capacity of more than 15 lbs. at the time, but it works. There have been times I thought something I spotted online weighted less than what I had already, so I checked the weight, what I had was less, so no need to buy another item.

I don't recall, but I didn't find any reason to believe it wouldn't be at least as accurate as I need it to be. It cost me very little, so if it's a total pile, I'm not out hardly anything.

We have a really nice, high-dollar postage scale at work, in addition to our larger shipping scale that I usually use, so I can check weights against that to see how accurate it is.

I really wanted the thing for weighing out food prior to trips, for which a super accurate scale is not really necessary, the thing is only a 500g (1lb) scale, so I'm really not going to be weighing anything important on it.

Like I said, cheap, and if it sucks, not a big loss.

I just bought a scale that weighs in oz., grams, kg, and lbs. off of Ebay. I got it for 17 bucks shipped. It has a capacity up to 11 lbs. Kind of nice to know how much stuff really weighs.

got the scale in today, weighing against my other weights, it appears to be right on, and if anything, a touch high on weights, but based upon gear of known weight I've bought, and gear I've weighed on my work scale, this thing is more than accurate enough for me.

7 bucks well spent!
