AWESOME!!!!

I do worry that with your SUL setup as depicted you may be too exposed.

Do you really want to travel that lean? Where is the easy chair to watch the TV?

Is your pooch carrying the inflatable easy chair?

Dear Mr. Brumfield,

We don't allow levity on this forum.
Please act serious.
The paper towel roller goes on the goat and should be
recycled paper. (oh, wait, that's a dog!)

We don't allow levity on this forum.

Right-o! If some of us begin to levitate, it would require a new board for super-duper-ultra-maxi-lightweight backpacking and render all our efforts to build a smaller, lighter alcohol stove pointless.

Need that cottage industry base for levitation.. - 02/10/08 11:26 AM

There's our problem. we're doing it all wrong. we need something less permeable than silnylon so we can have a large pouch on our backpacks to fill with lighter than air gas. Then we'll simply levitate and float down the trail.. Of course then we can have discussions between the safety pansies who use helium with commercial supplies and store bought gear versus the truly mega-lite crowd who tried it first before it got commercialized, and use hydrogen cracked from their drinking water by the electricity generated from their home made knee movement generators, and sew their own "Hinden-Ray-way(tm)" levitation gear. (keep it pure!) Hammocks will be a think of the past as Henry Shires will make a Tarptent that floats...

Now, Jim, your dog emailed me that shot last night. Said it's of you two when you hiked Yosemite. He wants us to talk to you about his share of the load being unreasonable, and he also told me you added the "Brumfield, this sucks" remark.. Brum

Ok, Eric, what is a "Hinden-Ray."?? When I Google "Hinden Ray" I only come up with this:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Hinden-Ray&btnG=Google+Search

And I do not think I'm carrying a stiff around on that pack. Brum

I assume it's a play on Hindenburg, because of the whole hydrogen-generator gas bag concept for levitation.

However, as I recall, using hydrogen did result in one small problem with the Hindenburg.....
