Primus Alpine Titanium Stove Opinions?

I am a relative newbie and have a question.

I have an old Primus Alpine Titanium Stove that I found. It is new in the box. I have read some reviews that say it is decent but they are pretty old.

Is there any one here who can compare it to the newer stoves and stove systems.

Does it have the wooden knob? I have a later model that I bought in 2001 that is the one I use to this day. Both are very good and lightweight stoves. I believe that Packlite was even selling one on here recently.

What do you want to compare it to? There are literally dozens of stoves of all types. Primus is one of the classic stove brands. This one looks like it would work just fine.

Brand new and free? Buy a canister and see how it works. If you like the idea of a canister stove, don't worry about comparing it to something else; they all basically work the same.

If you don't want it, give it to a local Boy Scout troop or similar organization. I'm sure they are always looking for donated gear.
