Finding places to go in NJ

Hi all... I used to backpack all the time with my dad when I was a teenager in MD and VA. So anyways college, military and now wife and baby happened and I'm trying to get back into. So I just got orders to Newport, Orgen but I'll be in nj for four more months and want to figuring it out with the wife and baby before moving out to more serious hiking/backpacking.

So Anyways just looking for good two and three day trips to take in NJ NY area. I live in point pleasant at the shore so not looking anything further then an hour and half to two hour drive.

My best recommendation is to pick up 50 Hikes in New Jersey. The book has some great hikes listed, many are with in 1 to 2 hours of Point Pleasant.
