Asia to Europe in one year? - 10/20/11 12:25 AM

This is my first post on your forum and hopefully not my last grin
Myself and 3 other friends are planning a trip in 4 years time (I know, a bit ridiculous) from Vietnam --> India --> Japan --> Russia --> Israel --> Greece --> Germany --> England
We were hoping to get this done in a year, seeing as this will be our first backpacking trip I was hoping to get a little advice =P
From your experience, is it actually possible to do this in a year? And how about equipment? What things will we need, etc.
Thanks in advance, we're all really excited about it

EDIT: Here's a very rough draft of our route

Wrong site for that kind of info. You are talking about budget traveling. This site is focused on backcountry hiking-what you all call bushwalking. Different deal. Check out Lonely Planet's site or bootsnall which are travel sites.

fyi, depending on how you travel and how long you plan on staying in one country, a year is more than sufficient time. You could do the trip in a month and still have a good time, but you might not see all that much.
