New from MN

Hello from central Minnesota! I am new to backpacking, mostly dayhikes to weeklong camping trips. I lived in the wind river area of WY a few years ago for a summer, and had a chance to explore a bit. I just wanted to introduce myself here, because I hope to learn enough to safely plan some more challenging trips soon.

I'm having a blast reading all the info on this forum - it really seems helpful! Are there any Minnesotans here?

I did some canoeing/portaging trips up in the Boundary Waters back when I lived in Minnesota. That is truly a magical place up there; if you ever get the chance to make a trip, there's nothing else like it.

Absolutely! I go at least once a year, in fact I spent the last week up there! It is such a treat... I'd love to go again before winter hits. It was my first portaging trip with my pup, and it went really well.
