This is a pretty good book. The PDF file converts easily to Kindle format.

Their website gives some pretty good recommendations for light gear.

I recently discovered this outfit, which is just down the hill from my house! I haven't yet been to visit, though, and didn't know about the e-book! Thanks!

It appears to be a compilation of articles that were already on their website, but I'll have to read the whole thing. I also need to go visit them, which I'll do later.

Certainly it's less expensive than buying the recently published books (both with rave reviews) from Andrew Skurka and Justin (Trauma) Lichter.

I'd guess the ebook was a blog that turned into a book and later turned into a business.

One thing I really like about the website is it doesn't give a lot of choices. His recommendations all appear good to me. I'm guessing he has used or hiked with someone who has used all the gear. If I don't trust his first choice, why look for a second?
