I much prefer "Adirondack Letters" though I enjoy both works very much.
Nessmuk was annoyingly cranky and conceited about giving advice, a trait often found to this day among supposed "experts," though increasingly limited to amateurs of the species.
Horace Kephart's "Camping and Woodcraft" is a much finer and more intelligent work that appeared about a generation later
