For all of the Vegan Hikers out there!!! - 06/09/08 08:36 AM

Okay, so I'm probably one of only a few vegetarians, and one of the hardest thing to find is a non-leather hiking boot. Garmont used to make a great one called the "Vegan", but discontinued it a year ago.

Now the Garmont Kiowa Vegan is out and it looks pretty good.

I have been using the Asolo Tenacity XCR, but the waterproofing limits its breathability and the Kiowa might be a good alternative for dry weather hiking.

The Kiowa Vegan seems to be just what I'm looking for, Mumblez. What is the fit like with Garmont?

From what I recall they can tend to run small by a half size. Although, every boot fits different, so make sure however you get them that you can return them if the fit isn't right for your foot.

Thanks for the reply, Mumblez. I think I'll look for the Vegan next time I'm in REI.
