Osprey Atmos 25

Has anyone used this pack for overnights??? at 1500 cu3 i thought it to be a little small but i seem to be able to fit my hex 3 my pot/stove combo/ food for a few nights and my rei flash kilo in there with some room to spare...if anything this could be a strictly summer setup i was thinking... Does anyone have any experience with these bags?

Jeez, I have the Atmos 35 and it's a challenge to stuff an overnight kit into it with any kind of normal bag and clothing, as well as the usual lumpy gear and a water bladder. OTOH it's a great winter day pack, or anytime I'm lugging camera gear. The trampoline back panel is terrfic at keeping hard corners well away from my back and is very cool in summer.

The main compartment shape--narrow and shallow on top, wide and deep on the bottom, doesn't lend itself to easy overpacking like a more traditional top-loader. I know I wouldn't be able to use the 25 overnight, but YMMV. Have you looked at the Talon series?

the 25 was a rather impulse buy it was in my area on craigslist for 60 bucks!... it was what i thought to be a first stab into the ultralight category. my big back is a dana terraplane and my lighter one is an old ems 3,000. In the spring however ill give the 25 a real try when nightime temps stay above 40.

When I checked the Osprey Website, I don't see an Atmos 25 listed. Are you sure the pack you're asking about isn't the Atmost 35?
I'm in the process of checking a 35 out for winter day trips. Initially it seems very comfortable, but I'm not sure if it holds everything I want in the way I want. Still checking it out.

They used to have 25-35-50. Maybe they dropped the 25?

yeah i think the pack i have is discontinued... but i mean the 35 is a bit bigger id imagine... with everthing just fititng in my 25 i bet the 35 would be just exaclty how much pack i would need for some breathing space, heres what i was finally able to fit
-rei kilo flash sleeping bag
-38 ounce water bottle
-camelback bladder(in between the mesh and the pack)
-snowpeak trek 900 with a etowah II stove inside it with windscreen
-hex 3 tarp (pole strapped to the outside) stakes
-food stuffs
-survival knife fallkniven f1
-compass, matches, gerber strike force
-z lite mattress strapped to the bottom/ outside
-long underweare tops and bottoms
-extra fleece top
-extra pair of thick pants (patagonia many miles pant)
-toiletries
-water chemicals
i believe thats it and if need be i think i could squeeze my re-usable tarp/survival blanket in there

now if i had the 35 i bet i could maybe fit that mattress inside the pack... or at least half of it
