Any Advice on Running Shoes?

Any Advice on Running Shoes? - 03/12/21 04:39 PM

Hello, I am looking for a comfortable long distance running shoe. In some of the online sources, I found the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 for overpronation. But there is another option like Ghost 13. The GTS 21 looks more stable. The Ghost 13, on the other hand, is for more cushioning.
Frankly, I am not a runner and I could not decide which one is best for me. And I never thought about the stability or the amount of cushioning when buying a pair of shoes before.
Any advice on this matter is highly appreciated.

Wow, that's a really big question. This forum is mostly about backpacking, which does cross over into running in some ways. e.g. - a lot of folks wear trail runners when they backpack of day hike.

I think to give any kind of ideas, we'd need to know what kind of running you're getting into. Are you road-running? trail-running? Are you training for an upcoming event? Do you have any conditions like previous injuries, narrow or wide feet? Are you just dipping your toe into running? returning to running after a hiatus?

It's kind of a, "What are you using this for?" kind of question we need answered before we can give you ideas.

I think you can read reviews until you are blue in the face, but at the end of the day what fits your foot and walking/running style is what will work best for you. That is a very personal question. Your feet are different from everyone of the reviewers you read. The best advice is to go to a good shop and try on the shoes they have.
