Hyperlite 3400 pack shoulder straps - comfortable?

Considering one the HL 3400s. But those shoulder straps look so basic and unpadded. I guess by definition its presumed you are carry lower weight, but even at 25 lbs it looks like the straps might get uncomfortable.

They do have some padding in them. I used to own an HMG pack a few years ago and found the straps were fine.

Of course, the goal is to carry the weight on your hips, not on your shoulders, so the shoulder straps are mainly just keeping the pack in place and such. If you carry the a lot of the weight on your shoulders you probably wouldn't like them much. FWIW.

The straps are actually not bad but could be wider. The frame is reasonably stiff (dual stays), but you will get some torso collapse at higher weights - maybe higher 20's and above.
