Goretex on bivvys loosing dwr ? (or alike)

Does anyone else find that after packing there breathable dwr material bivvy wet a few times it looses the finish and begins to saturate the material?

I have and wondering whether I'm just unlucky, or just should I switch to a material that is less breathable without dwr on its face ie breathable ripstop?
