Hello everyone new to the forum been backpacking for about 5 years now and i seem to go more and more every year.

I am a student here in beautiful West Virginia and most of my hikes are in the Monongahela national forest at Dolly Sods mostly but also the cranberry wilderness. I do most of my hiking from spring to fall when im not in school. I work full time as well so during school i dont have the time.

I carry an osprey Exos 58 but i do not carry the lid most of the time.

If my wife and dog are with me i use my big agnes super scout ul2 since the vestibule is a great place for the dog to sleep without poking holes in my tent floor. If i am solo i just use my DD Hammock tarp folded into an octagon tent with a tyvek ground sheet.

I am really happy i found this forum i have been trolling around for a while thought it was time i sign up.

I would like to do some winter camping this coming year if i have the time and im sure i will be looking for some advice when the time comes.

I line my pack with a trash bag to keep it dry but i also have a pack cover and i keep my extra clothes in a sea to summit dry pack.

Welcome! You live in a great area. I've done a hike in the Dolly Sods and have wanted to go back and explore more. Also as a horribly addicted fly fisherman, especially of wild trout, the section of the Cranberry River that can be backpacked is very tempting. Thanks for including the gear list, it's interesting to see what people migrate to. My list isn't much different, only change some of the brands, a few discrepancies, but I could live out of your pack very easily, as you would mine. I thought the Scout 2 would be a great tent for a pup. Ours use to sleep in a vestibule and made it hard to get out in the night. That one is LARGE. Don't be afraid to put up some trip reports, I for one, would love to see them.

I will definitely do that blue fish school is out in a month but im not sure im gonna make it that long probably be doing at least 1 or 2 over nighters before then.
