Caldera Cone Sidewinder - 05/22/11 01:19 AM
For a long while I've been "lusting after" a woodburning Caldera cone stove. When they came out with the Sidewinder model I orderd an anodized aluminun 3 cup pot & companion stove and the Inferno wodburning insert.
I was a bit skeptical but after using it with ESBIT at home and wood when snow camping I'm amazed at its efficiency and compactness. It all packs in the 3 cup pot. I can cook for 20 minutes with two large handsful of twigs. Very efficient.
Con: cleaning soot off the stove and pot is a pain - except in snow.
