Tarp setup video

This last weekend I decided to shoot a video showing the way I set up my tarp for the night. I usually use two trees with a hammock, but you will see why I didn't this time.

Thanks for sharing. I have experimented with various tarp configurations. Sometimes I will anchor one end to a firm root, rock, or tree and that way I only need one hiking pole. The setup I like best is the lean-to. I can lay there and watch the stars but feel secured knowing that if it should rain I will stay nice and dry. The downside of the lean-to is the fact that wind can be unpredictable. It is hard to be sure which direction to lean my tarp. If I am by a lake though, I always figure on the wind coming from the lake at night. So far so good.

Good to know thanks.looks like a very effective setup when using non telescopic poles! I think that would work as well if pitching a Hammock on the ground as well when trees wernt available.
