Thanks for the great video!

I'm still partial to external frame packs but that's just me. As I was watching your video I was thinking that the packs you show are like sports cars and the external frame packs are more like chuck wagons. Maybe I'm really a cowboy at heart.

Amazing coincidence. I was just watching this video on your website this morning. Excellent job bud. Thanks for your valuable information.

You get 100 people and you will get 100 different "top 5" lists. Everyone's criteria are different. The video is good, but they are your picks, not mine, nor many others. It would be nice if you were to up front list your criteria and also emphasize that if the pack does not fit you, nothing else matters!

You would probably get sued for liable, but it would be nice to have a video of "packs not worth buying" just to weed out the outrageously horrible packs!

Yes, it would help to list your criteria. Those I had when I was looking for a lightweight internal frame pack: under 3 lbs., capable of carrying 30-35 lbs. in a pinch, the right size for my gear (about 3,000 cu. in./50L), load lifters (my shoulders are very sensitive to pressure) and, of course, that it fit me. Amazingly, I found exactly I was looking for in the very first pack I ordered, the Six Moon Designs Comet. I notice that no Six Moons pack made your list, which only proves that we are all different! smile

Having heard so much about the old Mountainsmith Ghost, it was interesting to see what it looked like.

My favorite packs all have different criteria. For any list of parameters I only have one pack. I also have an MS Ghost, the design before the one in Jason's video. It takes a beating and keeps on ticking. Also like Jason quite a few of my packs have been discontinued or the new model is significantly different. My goto lightweight pack is a Fanatic Fringe Thompson Peak (9.5oz). Sadly it appears the company doesn't exist anymore.

I liked it. It so happens I also have two of the packs (working toward number three) but that you agree with me doesn't color my reaction, honest. wink

I suppose you could complicate things by listing some selection parameters but my sense is it's not a persuasion piece, it's what you like and why. Simple.

cheers,
