Food Warmer

Food Warmer - 01/25/10 05:10 AM

I'm not really a gram counter but one thing I have been doing that seems to help me has been to construct a sm. food warmer/lamp.
I have taken a 1/2 sz. soda can and cut a 2x2 (?) in window near the bottom edge. I cut piece of plastic soda bottle to fit
the can so I can use it as a lamp. The plastic window grabs the can just fine and is far enough from the candle flame so it will not melt.
To use it as a warmer I just set my metal cup or pot on top and the tub candle helps to keep food or my coffee warm.
Because I only have a small viewing window I don't need to worry much about the can crushing from the weight.
In total the Lamp/warmer might weight 1-1.5 oz. with one tub candle.

Well I thought I had an image to post here but I cant seem to get it to work.
I just tried for the 3rd time.
To many buttons involved.
Press this button add this tag.
Go here do this, then that.
And no B.S. button, my loss I guess.

Ok It became a challenge.

BTW
I used a section of a 16oz. sz Aqua Fina water bottle
for the lamp window. If you cutout the entire middle section
of the bottle then cut the section so it will slip around the
can you will find the window grabs the can with enough force to
stay in place.
