Drop Stoppers Microporous Polypropylene Rainsuit - 02/24/09 07:04 PM

I love the fact that this is light weight and up to now has worked. However I was in some moderate rain on Monday for at least a couple of hours and I notice the interior of my rain jacket looked wet and visibly soaked through when I got home. I know this fabric is not at all durable, but I expected more. So I put it in a bucket and made a pouch of the material and sure enough the water came through. (BTY not on a seam) It didn't leak fast, but it did leak immediately and obviously. I have had the item a couple of years, but it has been in my pack 99% of the time. Has anyone else experienced this?

Haven't tried Drop Stoppers, but I have used Frogg Toggs in the past with no problems--I did need to seal the jacket seams but otherwise it passed both the shower test and an hour of horizontal rain on the WA coast just fine.

EDIT: I also tried DriDucks but they appear more fragile than Frogg Toggs. They currently sit in my car as a possible coverall in case I have to put on chains or change a tire.
