The Northern Lite Pullover is back! (MEC) - 09/09/08 10:40 AM

For those of you who missed Mountain Equipment Co-op's Northern Lite Pullover known for it's good compressibility and light weight warmth they have brought it back.....with a few changes.

It now has an integrated insulated hood and a 2-oz per square yard fill weight verses my 1.5-oz sans hood. An interesting redesign at any rate.

Bah! they put a hood on it! Bleah!

I'll stick to my original where I don't have to carry the extra weight of a hood! - There's a
reason I carry a toque!

LOL

I agree that insulated hood is well.............overkill.

But it's an original new idea.

I may snag a pair of their Magma PL1 insulated full-zip Pants for this Winter.

I have to agree about the hood. They have moved away from a light weight sweater to a full on insulated coat for mild temperatures .

I'm glad I have the original.

460 gm XL - btw.

Holy horse cookies! I didn't even look at the price.. *** $160 ***? YGTBSM! I think
I paid something like $35 or $40 for my original! EEEK. I was gonna say you could chop
the hood off but not at that price!!!!

(madly typing in other window..... "Rest assured I was on the internet within minutes registering my disgust throught the MEC feedback area").

Rick,

I too have Thee original NL pullover with the 1.5-oz fill weight and it's still going strong after nearly 7-years being worn, stuffed and re-stuffed with no loss of loft. I believe Primaloft is the best synthetic fill out there, saving my arse more than once in nasty wet, cold weather.

I've noticed the American dollar has readjusted somewhat to the Canada's currency = an ever oh slightly better deal for Americans purchasing MEC stuff..............just barely.

I paid about $60.00 with S & H for my pullover. Compare that to a Patagucci syn' fill anything.
