Reusing old Thermarest SOLite pad - 04/19/19 06:26 PM
Does anyone have ideas on how to reuse an old Thermarest SOLite pad, ways to incorporate it into new gear?

Pot cozies? Pouches in which to rehydrate freeze-dried food? “Mocassins” or “booties” for wear in camp or in a sleeping bag? Sit pad for breaks or in camp? “Door mat” for a tent vestibule?

Most obvious would be a sit pad, and also use under your feet at night if you're using a 3/4-length sleeping pad.
It could also be used as a back pad in a homemade pack, frameless or otherwise. Covered with a breathable fabric, like a soft shell fabric or maybe mesh, it might allow better air circulation than a plain flat pad.

I use three sections as a sit pad and as an entry mat to my tent.
