I had this idea of making a light tent with hoop skirt boning for the poles. Seemed like a good idea and only 1 ounce for 3 feet. Why not? Searched the forums and couldn't find any info so I figured maybe I'm the only person who thought of this.
Well, I had to find out the hard way, it's too weak, even for a less than 80" small arch. Thought I'd share.
I was able to make the tent functional by doubling the boning in the large arch, using 2 tie outs and installing an internal cross brace but it put the total with 8 tent stakes at 24.9 ounces.
