Seam Gip to glue/attach anchors to a tarp. - 04/15/11 04:33 PM

I want to attach anchors to the inside of my tarp to anchor a homemade floor and bug net that goes about 10" up the sloping sides. Could I sew nylon loops onto a piece patches of coated ripstop and use seam grip to glue the patches with loops onto the inside coated surface of the taffeta material? The floor/bug net would then clip onto these loops. There wouldn't be much pressure on the glued on patches. Appreciate any input! Thanks in advance for your time. Joe

I Am not familiar with seam grip. If material was sil nylon silicone works well. Ripstop? I think it would still have to be sewn in as well! I doubt any adhesive would hold otherwise!

Yes. Seam Grip is a glue and it is meant to work with the fabric you are using.
Providing that as you say there will be not too much tension, it will work

Here's a link to an article on technique. Uses different glue but some of his tricks might be useful to you.
