FYI: I have a ALPS mountaineering solo tent,Mystique. It's rainfly is fairly bulky to pack. Needing my tent only for a 3 day trip into the desert, I opted to make a rainfly out of some syl-nylon I had laying around. Easier to pack and lighter, I used the original fly as a guide in making the sil-nylon fly.
