Hello,

It been a minute since the last time I've posted. I don't know how many of the original people there are still posting on here since I was last an active user. Hope everyone is doing well and getting some hikes in.

I'm still here - older, arguably wiser, and carrying a lighter load since we last talked. Welcome back - we've missed you. How's the career going? (Accounting or finance, as I recall?)

The family and I took a Sierra day hike yesterday, on a trail I never heard of, and there were a couple hundred cars lining the road at the start and hundreds either passed on the trail or strewn along the stream and falls that were the destination.

I was impressed so many are drawn to the mountains and appalled at the opportunities to pass around the virus. Conflicted.

As hard as it would be on an intended outdoor family outing, if I saw a couple hundred cars at the trailhead, I'd turn around or else scramble to find a different and less attractive trail to hike. frown

Ha! Good to hear this, Glenn! Yes, I still work as an accountant. My career is fine. I don’t have anything to complain about in the grand scheme of things. I went backpacking a few weeks ago to Gregory Bald in the Smokies to see the flaming azaleas, and it was a beautiful quiet getaway. I got a few backpacking loops lined up for fall in the Smokies, so maybe I’ll quit being lazy and share some trip reports.
