I have a can labelled Jun 26th 2000. Is that the manufacture date or expiry date? Thanks.

When did you buy it? Probably the expiration date. I shot off a several-year expired bear spray two years ago, and it sprayed fine, probably just not as far. It was good practice to actually use the spray. My current can has a very small print that says "exp 2014". Did the "exp" rub off yours?

Thanks for the reply WD. I don't remember when I got it but it could be at least 10 years old. Not sure about the label either.

I use old pepper spray (and I imagine bear spray would work) to make insecticide. Spray a can of pepper spray into a gallon of water, add a few tablespoons of dish detergent, and put in a spray bottle. Use it to spray plants to help keep insects away.

It's not a perfect solution but it helps. Rain or watering washes it away so a re-application may be required.
