I have been reading the PCT journals for years. I have noticed a trend the past few years. Few ever name or identify geographical features (I do not think they really know or care, where they are and simply follow GPS tracks). Most of the writing is about food, each other, or the joys of town. Getting to town seems to be their happiest times. They seem to now depend on and expect, even feel entitiled to "trail angels", more than be grateful and simply appreciate the little extra support.

There still are a few journals that are worth reading, but I am really disappointed in most.

I really wonder if anyone anymore does a long "named trail" as a wilderness experience.

By the way, BrianLee- your journals are wonderful!
