Sorry, not backpacking. frown We are doing 10 mile day hikes the months of March, April, May, October, and November. September is suppose to be the 20 mile day hike. June, July and August are all backpacking. smile This is for the Hiking and the Backpacking merit badges.

Here is a video I made of the trip.
Sabie Mountain 10 miler

We basically did an 8 mile loop with a 2 mile ascend and descend of the prominent peak in the area. The peak was Sabie Mountain. Anyways, here are a few pictures that are also in the video.
This is Sabie Mountain from a distance.

Map reading with a prize involved.

Climbing the "Wall"

Messing around at the top.

My new avatar. Notice that the pack looks uneven. I put exactly the same amount of weight in each side. I could never get it to stay straight.

This is me close to the top.

This one is right before we came off the loop trail and went on the summit trail.

Taking a break.

It is so great that you are taking youth out into the wilderness, whether it be backpacking or day hikes. Sounds like you have a really good program. Keep up the good work!

Great job Scouts. Good to see a troop in the field. Brings back good memories.
