Well, I've been away for a while--used to hang on these forums from 1997 until, according to an archive search, 2005. Yikes--thought it was only a couple of years. Don't know that many from back then are still here, though I do see Wildthing has posted recently.

Anyway, still backpacking, still lightweight, just thought I'd check back in and see what folks are using these days--didn't want to just totally lurk. smile

Welcome back.

I'm still using most of the same gear I has in 2005. I think I got some new clothing since then, but that's about it.

Thanks. And as for gear changes, or lack, me too, really. Did get a set of REI carbon fiber trekking poles a couple of years ago. Thinking about updating my shelter--depending on the trip and circumstances, I use an original Tarptent Virga, OR bivy sack, or old Walrus Arch Rival.
