I mentioned before that "BioUD" is a tick repellent that contains an active ingredient extracted from wild tomato plants. Kinda smelly, but it works great.

After reading this article it seems to me that it might be possible to create a fabric that mimics the behavior of the plants described:

I don't know about the tomatoes, but I do know that you can ground up Pansie seeds and put them in your wash and it will make your clothes insect repellent. My wife and I have used this for years and it seems to work pretty well. You may still have a small problem if you are just overwhelmed with bugs, but under normal circumstances, it seems to work very well for us. It works really well seemingly on the "biting" bugs. Mosquitoes and the like. Black flies are a problem too but we don't really seem to have much of a problem with them.I think that because of bugs we are finding the cooler weather more desirable because most of the bugs are usually some where else...sabre11004... grin grin grin grin grin
