 The PROCESS

----------

 The GEAR

Sometimes I have gear to sell. Either it will be gear I purchase and don't use; use very little; or gear purchased in order to test it and publish gear reviews. In any case, I'll advertise it here.

I only buy high-quality gear, therefore, I only sell high-quality gear. Also, most of the gear is new & unused, but if I indicate that it has been used, rest assured it has been handled with care and is clean and in top shape. None of this gear has been exposed to perfume, tobacco smoke (or any smoke) or any other odd smelly thing.

The prices I list are already discounted substantially from retail purchase prices. Feel free to make an offer, but my position is that the prices are already fair.

Where "free shipping" is indicated, it means "free of charge" only in the lower 48 US states. I only ship to the U.S.A. lower 48 states.

Thanks!!

-------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the process that works for me. If it works for you, then let's e-mail:

    1. We agree on price & exchange mailing addresses.

    2. Payment options in exchange for gear listed here:

You can send me a U.S. Postal Money Order, Bank (known by me) Cashier Check or use PayPal (cash from bank account only - no credit card). I'll also accept personal checks but will wait til it clears before shipping the gear. Upon receipt of payment, I send you the gear package. I almost always ship UPS with tracking, so insurance is included and we can both track progress of the package. On eve of shipment, I send you the tracking info and any other pertinent info.

    3. If package is damaged in transit, it's your responsibility to report it to the shipper at time of receipt so you don't get stuck with damaged goods. If damaged, the package should be sent back to me so I can invoke the insurance coverage as well as work out your reimbursement and/or (same item) gear replacement.

    RETURNS:

I don't have a return policy. I really don't want to get involved with sending gear back and forth. Personally, I do my homework before I buy something. So, do your homework, be knowledgeable about the gear, and be sure you want to buy it. However, having said that, I'll consider returns on a case-by-case basis.

    IN SUMMARY:

This process might make you feel like you are taking the greater risk. I know how I felt sending a check of substantial amount to Jack Stephenson (that's the only way to get one of his Warmlite tents). I felt like I sent the check off into space with nothing (not even a receipt or phone call or nothing) to show for it until I received the tent three months later.

But, that's the process I've been using here for the past ten years and haven't yet had a problem. I hope it'll work for you too.
