I had my love affair with alchy stoves but decided some time ago to use Esbit or tiny popsicle stick size cook fires (where legal). Thang is, Esbit tabs are lightweight and take up very little space. Sticks take up no space. I use alcohol as a fall back to Esbit.
Alchy stoves are fun and work great, no doubt.
