Sometime being a parent is difficult....

Went car camping and day hiking with my family this weekend. My oldest son is recently potty trained, but is perfectly happy using the "non-flushing toilets" (his words) in the campgrounds. On a day hike to the top of Mt. Pinos he tells me he has to go pee. I told him when your out in the woods you just go and pee on a bush. He found this completely unacceptable and was in tears asking me to bring him to the "non-flushing toilet". He assured me the bush did not want to be peed on. The impasse was finally resolved when I dug a little hole in the ground and put sticks around edge (for a seat) and told him it was just like a pit toilette now. He was so happy with this arrangement that we had to find it again on the way down and he used it a second time.
