A rare dx, but one that could easily be missed in a hiker found dead and otherwise given a cause of death of exposure. It makes me think of the John guy from Arkansas that died in the last year, found just lying dead in his hammock. Maybe Arkansas isn't really the common place for this type tick.

This cold, wet spring has been really bad for ticks in the Pacific Northwest.

I think the tick population is getting bad everywhere this year <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> Bell's Palsy is another transmitable disease that ticks carry, and folks unknowingly develop after the tick is long gone. Have a friend who got it and she did'nt know how until I explained it to her, and she to her doctor. Wet Springs bring on ticks like breezeless forest trails bring on the skeeters <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
