I spent many years blending in and trying not to be seen so that just was part of how I operated, but then I tried to blend in with the other hikers because a man & woman came aross me at my camp site 150 meters off the trail and they kind of freaked because all my gear was camo and a pistol on my side (I only had it like that in camp) but we started talking and they lived 10mins from my house (a kind of snooby area) so that put them at ease. But I still like od green, browns, dark blues, black and grays

It's probably because people are largely dull, boring critters themselves. Look at their cars, homes, offices...
