Im thinking about heading there thanksgiving. I am a huge fan of southern Utah and usually have one trip a year there. I have heard Caprock is the closest thing to southern Utah in Texas. I have never been. Also looking at hiking the north and south fork of prong creek (?). Is there much water in the area or do I need to pack it in?

Loc: Texas...for now
We are going to southern Utah because of your trip. Karmen just couldn't help herself! Leaving soon...

I read about Caprock Canyons in a Texas Monthly magazine and have wanted to go. I do know they stated something along the lines of needing a gallon of water per person each day in the heat.

Maybe this a trip we should meet up for also! Not so sure it stacks up to southern Utah though unless maybe summer temps...
