Just wanted to give a shout out to Out Gear Recreation!
I have never done hammock camping before (I have always been a tent and sleeping bag kind of guy). However, I was introduced to OGR by a friend of mine and I checked out their website. The hammocks they sell are not only made in the USA, but they're each handmade to ensure excellent quality. I wasn't sure whether or not I would love hammock camping, but with OGR's instructional videos and extremely helpful customer service I fell in love with it. I would highly recommend checking out their website to anyone who loves camping and hiking. Nathan (the owner) is very knowledgeable and he was able to answer any questions I had.
yeah, right. first post on a forum and immediately advertising something? That brings a lot of credibility to that site and fires a desire to study their videos.
Although, I switched to hammock + tarp from ground tent myself, and I do think it's more comfortable if you have trees around. But I would think there are lots of great hammock and tarp makers around...

Best just to hit the "notify" button on this stuff (I already did). If we "reply" to spam, it's harder to delete (the mods will have to delete our posts, too).

This review makes it sound like the manufacturer is a cottage industry guy. Because it is a first time post, it's harder to tell whether the review is legitimate or a spam, so Bill was right to remove the link. But this site also tries to support and encourage cottage industry suppliers, so it's ok to let the thread stand.
It's hard to conceal bad workmanship, but quality craftsmanship will rise, so I guess the referenced maker will just have to stand or fall on his own merits. All this thread does now is call attention to the source. That's not a problem in itself.
For about 5 years, before I joined a certain brand of tents , I posted comments and photos about those tents simply because I liked the product. ( I had a good job in the photo retail trade then, so backpacking gear was just a hobby for me) Every so often someone would have a go at me because they interpreted my comments to be of commercial nature. Some were in fact quite nasty but having spent 30 years in sales I developed a somewhat thick skin. Ironically I did eventually become part of that brand.
