Hope you all have a pleasant holiday today, and get the chance for a post-gluttony hike over the weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. No matter how your life looks to you today, there are always things to be thankful for.

For everyone--happy Thanksgiving! Hopefully we can remember that this day is really for giving thanks rather than for overstuffing ourselves with turkey! (Yes, I have problems with this one, too!)

Another suggestion--let's go hiking tomorrow and stay away from the stores--the life, or at least the wallet, you save may be your own!

Hear-hear! We're hosting and this is my contribution. Actually it's my kid's, as she won a turkey being fastest 7th grade girl in the mile. I had no idea.

Happy turkey day, everyone! Even you furriners. grin

Thank you, it was, and I hope everyone else's was too!

Our get together was the smallest we've had in years. It was just family and very close friends and very much enjoyed by us all. The weather here was beautiful, sunny and around 50º, couldn't ask for better.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I no longer have any family close, so I loaded my truck up with camping gear and enjoyed some more quiet time in the woods. Took a campstove top oven and fixed a sweet potato and game hen, with another smaller stove cooking up some cranberries. All turned out as if I was at home, except did not have a ton of butter for the sweet potato. frown Light breeze, temps low 50's so was very nice. Lit a coule lanterns and had my campfire going until 9PM. No rain.

I, too, hit the trail for Thansgiving. It was myself and 2 others. Went to the same place I have gone the last 3 years. I cooked up a turkey breast in foil on the coals. Had an onion and an apple in the foil as well for flavor and moisture. Came out beautifully. Also had stuffing, gravy, and green beans. Our temps were in the mid 20's so the hot food not only tasted great but provided a nice boost of heat. At night the temp dropped into the high teens. The next day we lounged around, snacked and cooked hot dogs. All day was breezy with a few snow flurries. Was a tad warmer the second night.
