Hey guys,

I've been looking into vegetarian trail food for my 2013 AT thru hike, and I ran across a site the other day that I haven't heard mentioned elsewhere-- outdoorherbivore.com

They seem to be exactly the sort of retailer I've been looking for--they sell lots of apparently good quality, low processed backpack meals.

Does anyone have any experience with them? I'm excited to try out their food, and wondering if I shouldn't place a bulk purchase for the discount.

For those of you who may know me, I'm no longer a BPL user, but went as Nick G. I'm currently HermesUL on Whiteblaze, and hiked the Long Trail July 6-23 as Hermes.

They make nice meals - I have tried them. Having said that, I would suggest you try a few out first smile

Just to throw out another brand: Enertia Trail Foods have no meat in them. I know some hikers who have been happy with at least some of their offerings. I make my own or repackage from #10 cans with extra veggies and proteins added.

Isn't Mary Jane's Farm also vegetarian?

Welcome to the forum, Nick!

Most of her stuff is, outside of the few organic beef meals they introduced a few years back smile
