Thanks to those of you who have talked about NOLS, and wandering_daisy in particular, I have decided to sign up for the Outdoor Educator Semester for this coming fall.

The tuition will be paid for via my Veterans Education benefits and I am just waiting to hear from NOLS Rocky Mountain concerning bringing my service dog. I have complete confidence in his ability to hack a 94 day course, but I thought it wise to talk things over with them ahead of time rather than just show up with a dog at my side.

I have been looking into this for quite some time and am looking forward to learning all kinds of things. The median age for this course is 20 and I am 35, but I am used to being with kids since I am a college student, ha!

Anyway I just wanted to say thanks to you guys for unknowingly helping me make the decision and for helping me lighten my pack considerably. I will keep yall up to date on this.

Good luck, nice to see the GI Bill come in handy for you.

Awesome! I hope to have the time and opportunity to do a NOLS course one day.
